How Baseball Became Minorities Route To Acceptance
Rich Hollander president of the Tarrant County chapter of B'nai B'rith recalls his life as young man following Sandy Koufax the lefty pitcher is one of two Jewish ball players inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Hollander now 68 year's old recall Koufax being the example to Jewish kids that they not only could be doctors and lawyers but professional baseball could be within reach as well.
Aided by 15 members with financial support Hollander has the traveling exhibit Casing Dreams: Baseball and Becoming American in Fort Worth starting March 5 at Congregation Ahavath Sholom 4050 South Hulen Street Fort Worth,Texas.
Hours of the exhibit are 10am-5pm Monday-Thursday 10am-2pm Friday's Noon-6pm on Sunday's and closed on Saturday.
