Jessica Peslak Named GoHofstra Student-Athlete Of The Week

Hempstead, N.Y. – Hofstra junior Jessica Peslak was named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 11.
Peslak went 3-0 and posted a 2.82 ERA in accounting for all of Hofstra's victories in the team's 3-1 week. The right-hander struck out 11 in 22 1/3 innings and held teams to a .226 batting-average against in improving her season record to 14-6.
Peslak threw a career-high 10 innings to earn a Colonial Athletic Association victory at Elon on Sunday. She held the Phoenix to five hits and struck out a pair in logging 133 pitches to help the Pride win its longest game of the season via a 4-3 victory in 11 innings. Peslak also defeated Elon on Saturday in the opener of a doubleheader and bested Seton Hall at home by going the distance in an 8-4 win on April 5.
The Livingston, New Jersey native has logged nine of Hofstra's 12 total complete games this season and has already set a career in victories entering the Pride's Wednesday game at Iona. Peslak has pitched 126 innings and has a 4.33 ERA.
Peslak also earned GoHofstra Student-Athlete of the Week honors on March 14 and is Hofstra Softball's first two-time winner this season.
