2016 Data The Price of Admission

Posted March 17, 2017

The proverty rate in the U.S. is 14.8 percent, with 46 million americans falling into that category, according to a 2015 report by the U.S. Census Bureau.

A study by the Federal Reserve released in May 2015 showed 47 percent of americans could not handle a $400 emergency expense without borrowing money.

Now put that into perspective, $400 would not get a family of four into AT&T Stadium to sit in average- priced seats to watch a Dallas Cowboys game.

Now lets talk baseball

MLB Regional baseball broadcast ranked no.1 on cable in 24 baseball markets in 2015 and league revenues reached $9.5 billion in 2015 but attendance fell down 7.9 percent from 2007.

Game seven world series between the Cubs and Indians drew 40 million viewers, fewer kids are playing baseball and the median age for viewers is older than 54 years old.

Why are the numbers important ? because as the fan base ages and new media has started to gain audience for all programming, minor league sports will need to understand the marketplace in order to gain or maintain any audience base.

While the RDB academy 21u Texas Independent Baseball League has only maintained a soft opening for the 2017 season. online numbers have steadily increased and event research suggest a consistent audience of 2,000 per date is attainable, that number surpasses the #252 minor league independent baseball team ranking's of attendance from the 2016 season attendance numbers average of 984 and 44,282 total for 45 home dates of a Texas based team.

The target audience is younger while inter acting with older baseball fans, stats from live game action will be distributed over Tweeter and other new media outlets used by that audience, this take the game into a more interactive mode. Audiences today are more interactive and simply going and watching a minor league game won't interest that age group.

The entire game event will consist of interactive connectitive actions, this is not baseball of the past the major league of baseball is in research mode looking for ways to speed up the game and other concepts it plans to introduce, we're a academy level rookie league so open ideas and concepts are more easily adaptable, the league is based around small ball developed and used in the Negro leagues long before MLB teams caught on to it as a strategy, so the action will be fast while developing rookie players, the testing memorandum indicates a difference in the way talent is found, instead of simply paying a charged fee which is really a fundraiser used model players must grade out as to what people think they are paying to see pro-ready or prospect talent and its free. While we are independent baseball we are not your great grandfathers independent baseball even though our players will advance into that model as they move up. Our job and mission is development for players who have real talent to advance it will be one of the toughest experience they have encountered entering the RDB academy.
