TRU 2017 Pre-Season Recap
Posted March 27, 2017

Kamloops BC – The Wolfpack (11-12) are ready to go for the 2017 CCBC season after completing their pre-season schedule this past weekend. After a rocky start to the year, the ‘Pack finished strong going 7-2 in their last nine games. The team was led by its starting pitching, which appears to be peaking at the right time. Led by reigning CCBC Pitcher of the Year Tyler Hodder, the staff during the stretch averaged nearly six innings per start to the tune of a 1.90 ERA.
Heading into the spring, the lack of upper classmen was a large question mark for the team, however youth has not been an issue thus far. Sophomore Isiah McDonald has been an offensive force, carrying the team with a slash line of .463/.569/.609, leading the team in both walks and doubles. Transferring over from nearby UFV, redshirt freshman Connor McKenzie has been a rock behind the plate hitting over .350 to go along with stellar defence. Not to be forgotten, 2 time CCBC All-Star and 2016 RBI leader, Ethan Mohan returns for his third year with the ‘Pack and slugged his weight for a .286/.420/.429 slash line to go along with 12 RBI.
TRU begins their 2017 regular season schedule April 1st with a doubleheader at Norbrock Stadium against the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs who have won the past six CCBC championships.
