The Supers hit the road on May 10, 2017, as they travelled to Yorkton to take on the up and coming Back Forty Brewers. The offence erupted for seven runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back in a 20-1 victory.
After getting just five hits in their season opener in Grandview, the Supers erupted for eighteen hits, seven of which happened in the first inning. Logan Parachoniak led the way with four hits including a double and four runs batted in. Kholton Shewchuk of Rama made his Supers debut a successful one with three hits and three runs batted in. Bryan Sedley, Adam Korb, and Terry Cumming each had two hits. The team also took advantage of some erratic Brewers pitching as they drew seven walks and were hit by two pitches.
On the mound, Derek Palagian was in mid season form allowing just two hits over six shutout innings while striking out twelve Brewers batters to pick up the win. Korb pitched the final inning and recorded two strikeouts while allowing one run on two hits.
The defense was solid committing just two errors. With the win the Supers improve to 2-0 on the season, and will host the Langenburg Indians on Friday May 12 at 6:15PM
