Dbacks beat rain and Cubs

CAIRNS, SK – On a rain soaked, blistery, lightening filled, night, the Saskatoon Diamondbacks came away with a 4-2 victory over the Saskatoon Cubs. Graham Forester picked up his first conference win of the season going 4 and 2/3 innings with two earned runs on 5 hits with 1 K and two walks. Conner Coverett pitched the remaining 2 and 1/3 innings limiting the Cubs to two walks.
Erick Trakalo led the offence going 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. JD Storozynsky and Nolan Machibroda were each 2 for 3 while Owen Lindberg was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Ethan Godson was also 1 for 3. Teege Polson was 1 for 4 while Ryan Olchoway was 1 for 1 with a walk and an RBI.
If the weather holds, the Dbacks next game is 9:00 pm tonight at Cairns against the Saskatoon Giants.
