Stars no Match for Supers
Posted May 27, 2017
On Friday May 26 the Supers played host to the Roblin Stars. Heavy rains the previous day almost forced a cancellation but fortunately the game was able to be played. When all was said and done the Supers emerged with a 16-7 victory.
The offence was ignited by multi hit games from Kody Rock, Kholton Shewchuk and Derek Palagian. Rock had four singles, three runs and three rbi's in his season debut. Shewchuk had two singles, a double, two runs and two rbi's. Palagian had two singles, a run, and an rbi. Terry Cumming had the only other hit for the Supers with an rbi single. The difference in the game was the Stars pitchers inability to command the strike zone as they issued ten walks. The Supers took full advantage of their opportunities
Logan Parachoniak started on the hill for the Supers, pitching 4 2/3 innings. He allowed eight hits and five walks and six earned runs with eight strikeouts. With the bases loaded and the game tied at six in the top of the fifth, Adam Korb came in relief and forced a groundout to get out of a dangerous situation, Korb then pitched the final two innings allowing just one run on two hits to pick up the win.
The Supers defence was excellent as only one error was committed the entire evening. With the win the record improves to 3-1 on the season. The next game will be Sunday May 28 in Swan River vs the Reds at 4PM Saskatchewan time
