BRAVES GIVE UP LATE LEAD

A three run home run in the sixth inning by the Holden Blue Jays first baseman Zak Lang and a strong pitching performance from Grayson Suprovich would be too much for the Braves as they fall to 2-2 after the 7-5 loss.

While not much is known about the game due to the lack of scorekeeping, it would appear that the Braves were unable to hold on to a 5-4 lead late in the game as the power hitting Jays first baseman would hit a deep home run to centre field in the sixth.

The Braves would get out to an early lead as they would score four runs in the top of the first inning after a pair of errors by the Jays opened the door for the big inning, capped off with a big two out single by right fielder Josh McDonald. Centre fielder Dylan Berrecloth, catcher Chad Nelson, third baseman Craig Koughan and left fielder Craig Neufeld would all come in to score in the inning. The Braves fifth and final run would be scored by Neufeld in the third inning when he would eventually come home after a lead off single.

After a lead off single to second baseman Rob Berrecloth in the top of the fourth inning, Suprovich and the Jays would retire twelve out of thirteen hitters to end the game, setting up the dramatic go ahead home run in the sixth.

The win moves the Jays to 3-1 while the Braves fall to .500 with a 2-2 record.

And that is about all we know.

The next PBL action for the Braves will be on Thursday June 1 when they travel to Sherwood Park to take on the Athletics for the first time in franchise history. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00pm at Centennial Park.
