We went into this years provincials not knowing what to expect and came out excited about our future. Our first game saw us defeat the Diggers 5-2. Our 'old guy' Eric Bollefer threw five strong and Parker Mcrae came in for the final two and shut them down. We only made one error and had nine hits with Luke Strueby and Curtis Strueby leading the way with clutch two RBI hits in the fifth and sixth.
The next game saw us take on the Regina Trappers. Carter Frerichs threw five good innings and Thomas Lessmeister threw the sixth and seventh. Our defence was great again and the offence was huge. We had 13 hits with Geoff Strueby leading the way going 4-4.
This put us in the semi final against the always tough Outlaws. We lost 5-3. Nick Anderson and Colin Bauml were great on the mound. Our defence was solid, but the offence struggled. We managed seven hits, however, we left nine on base. Brent Puetz had a pair of hits to lead the way.
With that our provincial run came to an end. It was a great weekend of ball and our young guys got some great experience in big time games! It was a great effort and we are already looking forward to next season!
We had great support all weekend. Thank you to all the fans who came out and supported us!!!
