Bantam Fall Ball
Posted August 17, 2017
The Parksville Royals Baseball Club is pleased to announce their 2017 Fall Ball program. The program is open to all Bantam playersr. The purpose of the fall program is to introduce players to the Royals program. Fall Ball is not a try-out for the 2018 Parksville Royals teams Bantam Prep PBL or the North Island Bantam AA team. The tryouts for Bantam Prep PBL team will commence in January. The try-outs for the North Island Bantam AA team will be arranged in cooperation with the North Island associations and will, presumably, also happen early in the new year.
The Royals will stress fundamentals of the game combined with understanding and applying the etiquette of baseball. Every player is encouraged to maximize their participation in both practices and games while working around all the other activities going on in the fall. It takes commitment and time management to compete. Coaches are looking for enthusiasm for the game, the ability to put your best effort on the field at all times combined with aggressive play, a teachable attitude, and sportsmanship creating an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
This year's program will run for five weeks, from September 6 through October 7, and will be held at Springwood Park in Parksville. Bantams will practice Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Weekend schedules may vary due to game times. Cost to register is $125 per player. The program includes three tournaments; one each for Senior, Junior, and Bantam. These events are on the mainland. Players will be selected by the coaching staff to participate and those players will be asked for an additional $150 to cover ferry and hotel costs.
Please check back soon for the full game schedule.
