Jean named SWAC Pitcher of the Week

Alabama State pitcher Justine Jean was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week, announced by the conference office.
Jean posted two dominant outings for the Lady Hornets during the team's 3-1 stretch over the past week. The sophomore hurler made three appearances, including a pair of starts, going 2-0 in the circle while allowing 11 hits and one unearned run.
Jean fanned a career-high 13 batters in a 7-0 victory by the Lady Hornets over South Carolina State, before pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts in a 4-1 victory over Alcorn State in conference play. The sophomore tops the conference in innings pitched (107.2), appearances (26), starts (18) and strikeouts (66).
