Cozza Earns Third A-10 Player Of The Week Honor

The senior improved her season average at the plate to a nation-leading .521.

Senior infielder Jena Cozza earned her third Atlantic 10 Player of the Week award this season after going 5-of-7 at the plate with four RBI as the Minutewomen (22-11 Overall, 11-0 Atlantic 10) won two of three games last week.
 
Cozza (Wantagh, N.Y.) batted .714 at the plate to improve her season batting-average to a nation-leading .521 clip while posting hits in all three games. On Tuesday, Cozza set a new UMass single-season record for hit-by-pitches in a single season as she finished the week with an .800 on-base percentage. Against Saint Louis in the series opener, Cozza doubled and scored three runs while putting together a 2-of-2 showing at the plate with a walk. She capped off the weekend by hitting her 12thhome run of the season in game three while extending her reach base streak to 29 straight games.
 
On the season, Cozza owns the top on-base percentage in the country by reaching at a .654 clip to go along with league-leading numbers in eight offensive categories.
