Only Way is Up for Rockets
Posted May 8, 2018
With a new season slated to begin Wednesday, May 16th at 8 pm the Rockets look to make some noise early in the season. It won't be easy as the Rockets play the defending champion Alexandria Angels Wednesday at Hennies Park. However, the Rockets are optimistic. The team is coming off its inaugural season where it experienced some learning curves as the team went 0-14. This year the Rockets return with a roster that has a few familiar faces and some foreign. The Rockets hope these roster changes coupled with some internal structure changes will provide the conditions necessary for a winning environment. The Rockets play in arguably the hardest league in South Dakota Amateur Baseball. The Sunshine League contains perennial contenders like the Alexandria Angels, Parkston Mudcats, and many other quality teams. This quality competition will be a great test for the Rockets, and should they hold their own in the Sunshine League the State Tournament is not out of the question.
