Cozza Named UMass Student-Athletes Of the Week

Senior Jena Cozza of the softball program have been recognized for their performances for their respective teams last week as the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week.
Cozza drove in seven runs and scored four in four games in the Atlantic 10 Tournament on her way to being named to the all-tournament team. The Wantagh, New York native batted .400 with a .600 on-base percentage and a 1.100 slugging percentage to go along with two home runs, including one each in her final two games of the week. She posted two hits and drove in three with a double in an 8-0 win over Saint Louis in five on Thursday to open up tournament play for the Minutewomen. Cozza drove in three more runs in the championship game against Fordham, hitting a two-run home run before getting intentionally walked with the bases loaded to bring home another.
