Week two saw three games lost to rain on Friday, June 1st, but a huge slate of 12 games on Sunday created some movement in the season's early standings. The only team to go undefeated for the week were the Boissevain Centennials (3-1), earning road wins against two of the North's top teams, Hamiota (4-1) and Oak River (3-3). The Cents were led by lead-off hitter Patrick Vandorne who went 7-9 over the two-game set, scoring 6 runs and driving in 3. They also got a strong pitching performance from Zane Sawyer, who earned a complete-game shut-out vs the Dodgers, while adding 4 hits and 5 RBI over the two games.
After dropping their big showdown on May 30th with the Hamiota Red Sox, the VIrden Oilers (4-1) swept their double-header on Sunday, beating the Souris Cardinals (1-3) 7-2 and the Wawanesa Brewers (1-2) 14-3. Virden got superb pitching performances from Curtis Plett and Jeff Peel, as the two both had complete game victories while combining for 23 Ks.
Week 3 sees a pivotal match-up in the South division, as 1st place Boissevain travels to Deloraine to take on the 2nd place Royals (2-2) on Friday, June 8th.
