Stumble at Clinton
Posted June 7, 2018
Minneota lost its first league game, 10-2 on Sunday in Clinton.
“It was one of those games where nothing went right,” said Assistant Manager Beau Buysse.
Minneota got two hits from Buysse while Austin Buysse and Adam Durfee added hits and Durfee and Jake Leighton scored the only two runs. “We didn’t hit particularly well,” said Beau Buysse.
Righthander Ryan Toelle tossed the win for the Cards. Zach Nuy started for the Mudhens and was relieved in the sixth by Tommy Fischer.
“We just need to forget about this game and not think much about it. We’ve got four league games coming up,” Buysse said.
“This game was not who we are. It’s one league loss, we’ll shake it off and we’ll be alright.”
Jesse Drager re-injured his bruised heel and may be out for awhile. Austin Buysse, nursing a bruised knee, was the designated hitter but is still unable to play in the field. “We’re kinda nicked up right now,” said Buysse.
