The Reston Rockets (4-3) ripped through the league this week, capturing 4 straight victories over Virden (4-3), Oak River (4-4), Souris (2-5), and Hartney (2-4), before finally succombing to the Deloraine Royals (3-3) on Tuesday night. Led by Brandin Ripley (8-16, HR, 4 RBI, 9 runs / 1W), Sheldon Moore (6-10, 7 RBI / 1W), and John Patmore (8-17, 5 RBI, 7 runs / 1 SV), the Rockets were able to vault themselves up to third place in the North Division standings, now sitting just one game back of the leading Hamiota Red Sox (5-2). After a busy week 3, Reston has just 1 game in week 4, as they host Elkhorn (1-5) on Friday night.
In other news around the league, the Boissevain Centennials continued their dominance going a perfect 3-0 for the week. Jay Pringle paced the Cents batting .700 over the three game set driving in 9 runs while crossing the plate 5 times himself. Pringle was also stellar on the mound, earning a complete game victory over the Wawanesa Brewers (1-4), holding them to just 5 hits.
