Posted June 28, 2018
The Lennox Only One traveled to Madison to play the Broncos on the KJAM game of the week this past Sunday.
The Only One would throw right hander Drew Sweeter who would go the distance allowing 5 runs and eventually taking the loss.
After taking a two to zero lead, Madison would allow Lennox to score after a Jacob Elkins single knocked in Jon Vandehoef.
A few innings later, Justin Reilly would work his way to second base and manage to tag up to third on a sac fly from Jared Fodness. However, an errored throw would allow Reilly to head home and tie the game at 2.
The following half inning, a Mitch McNary single for Madison was followed by a two run home run by Matt Burpee and Madison retook the lead. A late run for the Broncos lead to a 5-2 lead and that was enough for Madison.
Hunter Jameson threw a good game for the Broncos leading them to the victory and moving Madison to a season sweep of Lennox and a 7 win and 4 loss record.
Lennox fell to a 5 and 5 record which is still fourth in the Cornbelt District. Lennox will now prepare to play Dell Rapids PBR a team that Lennox has already defeated.
The opening game of the season, Lennox knocked off PBR 8-5 riding a good pitching performance from Drew Sweeter who earned the win and Chris Kropuenske who earned the save. Lennox also had help from the Sweeter brothers at the plate as Drew had 2 hits and 2 walks including a home run and 2 RBI's, while Grant Sweeter went 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI's.
Lennox will look to complete the season sweep of PBR with tonights 7:30 first pitch from Lennox. Come out for some good baseball!!
