Outlaws head into provincials on winning note
Posted August 1, 2018
The Outlaws played the Hoppers on Tuesday night, in their last game before provincials this upcoming weekend in Regina.
The boys stormed out of the gates in the bottom of the first , putting up 6 runs to take the early lead.
Bess put in a solid outing on the bump, keeping the Hoppers off balance through 5 , allowing 2 runs. The defense was solid, in particular the right fielders, as Couv and Kapp initiated back to back 9-5 double plays with some deadly throws.
The Outlaws added 3 more in the bottom of 6, to cement the 9 to 2 victory.
This moves the Outlaws to 8 and 7 in regular season, which is pretty respectable after the 1 and 5 start to the year.
First action in provincials is Friday at 4 against Moose Jaw, then Saturday at 10 am vs Marysburg, and 7 pm under the lights against the Regina Trappers.
Sunday will see the top 2 teams square off for the chance to represent Saskatchewan at Westerns in Moose Jaw.
Lets go Outlaws!
