Posted March 24, 2019
The Foster Lady Falcons faced the Terry Rangers on Friday nightat Foster Field. The game had double significance for the Lady Falcons. First it was a chance to see out an undefeated regular season in district 24-5A. Second, and more importantly, it was the final regular season game for seniors Jasmin Badillo, Tola Ajayi, Corbie Chapman, Liana Hamdan, Genesis Castillo and Tina Rodionov (manager). Foster came out of the blocks firing. In the first minute, Jasmin found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead and the Falcons never looked back. Tola and Jasmin scored in the 10th and 12th minutes respectively and Jenay Garcia added a fourth goal in the 34th minute. Jasmin picked up a hat trick with her third goal in the 37th minute and Foster led 5-0 after 40 minutes of play. Grace Shivers and the vaunted Falcon defense were in lock down mode and limited Terry’s offense to minimal possession and opportunities. In the second half, Foster got lots of players into the game and the scoring continued. Angelica Bochus scored in the 44th minute off an assist by Jasmin who put away two more goals, her 4th and 5th of the night. Badillo is the new single season scoring leader for Foster High School with 54 goals. To their credit, Terry kept fighting and in the waining minutes of the game, got a long shot off which stayed just out of reach for a goal. The final: 8-1. The Lady Falcons are your 24-5A district champs! They went 16-0 in district play and 20-1 overall. They tallied 14 clean sheets across all matches and allowed only 11 goals all season against 124 goals scored. They demonstrated upper class leadership, team cohesion, and youthful spark. They are a team to be reckoned with and should be proud of an extremely successful season. The playoffs begin with a match against Wisdom High School on 29 March at 6:30 PM in Traylor Stadium.
