Olafson rolls out of retirement

It might be the same Tyler Olafson, but he’s putting on his best efforts to re-brand himself.

The formerly quiet, happy-go-lucky, kid in right field is now trying to become Armena’s next Swedish Sandstorm.

“T-Bone,” as the locals refer to him, rolled into the hamlet for spring training on his Royal Blue road bike bringing about memories of the famous Major League reference, “Look at this ______ guy,” you know how it goes.

Olafson, making a comeback just like a couple of his fellow teammates, is bigger, broader and becoming a little brash in his old age. He was seen doing sit-ups, push-ups and even body checking the outfield fence during practice Thursday night.

One has to wonder if Mike Sampson, whom is fighting off sickness (after returning from Mexico, uhoh), is scared his right field competitor is going to literally beat him up for the starting spot.

At any rate, the Rebels might have the rowdiest group in the league, but Olafson is doing his best to give Armena that grit they lacked last season.

The next bad boy of Armena baseball perhaps? I mean, just listen to the horn on that bike? If that doesn’t conjure up intimidation, what does?
