Milleteers Down Rebels
The Ryley Rebels lost the season opener on Wednesday night, in a pitching duel, 2-0 to the Leduc Milleteers. RHP Dylan Solberg pitched a great game for the Ryley Rebels as he struck out 9 and scattered 7 hits and no walks through 6 innings, however the offense was no where to be seen. The Milleteers had both there runs come in on a 2 out base hit in the third inning.

Leduc’s off season was highlighted by the signing of unrestricted free agent RHP Scott Peterson and he did not disappoint in his first start. Peterson pitched a strong game only allowing a single and a double in the first inning and then shut down the Rebel offense the rest of the way. Peterson threw 5 scoreless innings before the young Leduc bullpen was called into action to throw 2 perfect innings.

“Our defense looked much improved from our exhibition games and we got some decent swings in and made some contact with the ball, Scott’s a tough guy to face in our first game in the league though” said Manager Corey Epp.
The Rebels will be back on the field Thursday night as they take on the Camrose Roadrunners in Ryley provided the weather is decent.
