Milleteers Take Out Lakers

The Milleteers pitchers continued to keep their opponents scoreless for the third game in a row, while the bats came alive after being kept at bay the night before. It took the offense a little while to get going on this cold night, but once it did it started scoring in bunches, capped off by the first home run of the season as Steven Pahl hit a line shot off the walking path in right field. The lineup got a balanced contribution from everybody as top to bottom it seemed as though all hitters chipped in.

On the defensive side the Milleteers pitching staff for the most part kept the Lakers at bay as they only gave up two bunt singles. They were however a little wild as they walked six batters, but three of those runners were caught stealing as catcher Shane Gerein had an excellent night behind the plate, and a fourth was picked off by a pitcher.

Despite the win tonight, the biggest positive that has to be taken from this game is that finally the Milleteers made it through an outing without adding to their wood bat firewood pile. Maybe they are finally breaking out of all the bad hitting habits that decades of using aluminium and kevlar have caused.
