Roadrunners Slam Rebels

A good offensive start for the Ryley Rebels was quickly erased in a shaky 3rd inning which was capped by a Warren Boychuck grand slam. While the offense was missing in game one and the pitching and defense were strong, the Camrose game saw a reversal.

The offense came out strong getting the Rebels up to a quick 4-0 lead, but the errors and strike zone quickly sunk the Rebels. The combined pitching effort of Corey Epp, Shane Meturnic and Matt Starky was let down by 8 fielding errors. Tough to win a game when you are averaging an error per inning.

Kyle Reinholt had a rare RBI ground rule double and youngster Tyler Hanson chipped in with a clutch 2 out RBI single. Manager Corey Epp is happy that the bats are coming to life and in the coming weeks the addition of Curt Stensrude, Dustin Solberg, Bryan Toles, Kris Kushnerick, and Josh Lyons should help out a sputtering offense.

The Rebels next see action against the Armena Royals (0-1) and the Bardo Athletics (2-0) both set to take place in Ryley at the Ballpark.
