Leduc hands A’s another tough loss

Bardo is having trouble finding a way to beat the top half of the league this year. After losing a tough one Tuesday night to the Rebels, Thursday night they would host the Milletiers on their home diamond.
The A’s were delighted, and surprised not to see the likes of Steven Pahl or Scott Pederson on the mound to start, instead they were up against a rookie pitcher, named Ryan Walker. Chris Mittelstadt was on the mound looking to avenge his defeat in Camrose.
Leduc would scored a couple runs early on in the game but that’s when Mittelstadt settled in bringing his “A” game to the plate. All Bardo needed to do now was score a couple of runs off Leduc’s rookie hurler. Well easier said than done, Ryan, along with changing speeds, had an elusive curveball that the Athletics looking like Pee Wees at the plate.
Defensively both teams were solid, Bardo had some big defensive plays from Ryan Olson at second base, Chris Kallal in centerfield, and Ray Lehman behind the plate, and Leclaire at short, but again it wasn’t enough. Mittelstadt deserved a W in the win column tonite but Bardo’s bats would fail them once again.
Full credit to Leduc’s hurler, and now the A’s find themselves at .500 with a must win against Camrose on Tuesday, a team they have only beat once in the last 5 league games.
