2 Games - 2 No Hitters (May 21 and May 23)

Posted May 23, 2019

A no hitter is a very rare occurance, happening approximately twice a year in Major League Baseball. In the Supers last 2 games, there was a no hitter in each.

On Tuesday May 21st the Supers were in Roblin taking on the Stars. Little did they know they were going to face Lyndon Zimmer, a 19 year old with a sneaky fastball and a nasty hook. When all was said and done the Supers could only draw 4 walks and reach base on an error while striking out 15 times in a 3-0 loss.

Kholton Shewchuk showed up for the Supers as he threw an excellent game of his own, tossing six innings while allowing just three runs. He allowed seven hits with five strikeouts and just one walk. Unfortunately the offence just could not get going as his effort would have been more than good enough on most nights for a win.

On Thursday May 23 the Supers hosted the Parkland Pirates (formerly the Yorkton Yankees). Former Milwaukee Brewer organizational player and 2016 WMBL Top Pitcher Kody Rock would get his first ever start on the hill for the Supers, and what a memorable night it was. He would go on to strike out fifteen Pirates with just two walks while allowing no hits in a 5-0 Supers victory.

Jordan Evans led the way offensively with a pair of doubles and two runs scored. Ian Quewezance had a strong season debut with two singles and an rbi. Phil Sobkow and Evan Rostotski each helped the cause with an rbi single, While Kholton Shewchuk also had a single.

With the loss on Tuesday and the win on Thursday, the Supers record now sits at 2-1 on the season. The next game will be tomorrow evening, Friday May 24 in Yorkton vs the Back Forty Brewers. Game time is set for 6:15 PM at Jubilee 2
