Ryley wins thriller

Sounding alot like the Camrose/Leduc game, Tuesday night saw Bardo and Ryley play an excellent ball game.

Don Oslund was on the mound for the Athletics looking to find that famous fastball that has had batters gasing out on a regular basis. Well, he has to look no further because he had it going tonight, and with that, had the Athletics in a prime spot to win their sixth game of the season.

Before I get to far, the Rebels had a familar hurler on the mound that the league has missed for sometime. Kurtis Stensrud, was on the mound and provided a gas of his own, throwing bullets all night to the catcher Toles.

Bardo would score in the first to take the early lead, and would chip in another in the third to go up 2-0. Oslund and Stensrud were piling up the strike outs, and with the game only an hour old, we hit the bottom of the sixth. That is where the game changed, Ryley scored 5 runs in bottom half of the inning in what seemed like a 10 minute span.

Bardo was stunned, they had played a perfect game up to this inning, but with a couple errors, the Athletics found themselves down 3 runs to a stubborn Rebel squad, who were looking for a break all night. Stensrud cleaned up the Athletics in the top half of the 7th, and with that, moved into a comfortable spot in third place.

The Rebels have the season series advantage at this point, but there is one more game to be played between these two. That will decide the season series, and maybe the placing of the two teams.
