Bardo shuts out Tofield

Chris Mittelstadt pitched a gem for the Athletics, as they were up against the Lakers Thursday night. Tofield had come off back to back victories and were looking to hang on to a play-off spot along with continuing as spoilers.
Both Mittelstadt and Melanson were tough early. Mittelstadt struck out 8 of his first 10 batters, while Melanson had his change up fooling the Athletic hitters. It wasn’t until the bottom of the 4th, with the score tied at 0, that Bardo got on the board.
They would score six runs, aided 2 RBIs each for Stauffer and Olsen. Mittelstadt would go the distance, striking out a team high 12, and with a couple of support runs in the fifth and sixth, the Athletics would shut out Tofield 8-0.
