Bats and Bounces in Bardo

Camrose Roadrunners made the most of their opportunities in Bardo on Tuesday night, capitalizing on eleven hits, some nasty infield bounces off a muddy field, and some costly outfield errors, to outlast the Bardo A’s 11 – 7.

The Camrose offence was led by Brad Nester (two doubles and three RBI’s), Steve Ofrim (two-run homer and three RBI’s), and Hans Haugen, who went hitless but still scored four runs.

After jumping out to an early 7 – 0 lead, the Roadrunners watched the A’s battle back to within three, before a four-run outburst in the sixth, capped by Matt Mayer’s two-RBI double.

The A’s still fought back, with three of their own in the sixth, but Camrose starter Steve Ofrim closed the door in the seventh, striking out three of the four Bardo batters.

The win moved Ofrim to 4 – 0 on the season, who gave up ten hits and struck out nine.
