Big brother comes out on top
With the Armena Royals fighting for their playoff lives and the Milleteers needing to win out to claim home field advantage in the playoffs the teams hooked up in a rare Friday night tilt. In what was a good pitcher’s duel, the Milleteers edged the Royals.

Ryan Walker continued his outstanding rookie season for Leduc as he threw six innings of one hit ball, only giving up one unearned run. What was even more satisfying for him was that he held his brother Mark, who suited up for the Royals, hitless.

Joel Boettger got the start for the Royals and was tough early on, but the Milleteers kept getting guys on and finally got the big hit in the fifth as Trevor Pahl hit a two run double.

This was all Walker needed as he cruised for six innings, and closer Kevin Doyle came on to pitch a perfect seventh. The teams will meet again on Sunday night in Sherwood Park in a must win for the Royals.
