Final will see a game three

Reading the blogs on the PBL site left me wondering what could or should make a good ball game to watch, is it the 1-0 pitching gem, or the 10-9 offensive gem, or is it as it was tonight. Two teams playing with all they have to win or prolong the finals. A great crowd was on hand to watch one on the most emotional, intense, but very entertaining matches of the year.

Steven Pahl pitched a great game last night limiting the Bardo Athletics to two hits. Bardo has had struggles getting runs, and if they were to prolong the series, they would need to score at least a couple.

Ryan Walker would get the start for the Milletiers as Don Oslund would for the Athletics. Not much changed early in the game, both Walker and Oslund were in control only allowing 3 hits each against after 4 inning were complete. The score remained 0-0 until the top of the 5th. Ryan Walker singled and then the hottest hitter in the series so far, Trevor Pahl would single, giving Leduc 2 runners aboard for Steven Pahl, who would launch one off of the right field fence scoring 2 runs and giving Leduc a 2-0 lead. Mike LeClaire would single in Peter Neufeld after he lead off with a doulbe to put Bardo on the board and cut the lead in half.

Trevor Pahls 2 rbi double in the top half of the 6th had Leduc sitting where they needed to be, up 4-1. But Bardo wasn’t ready to call it a night just yet, they would score 2 in the bottom of the sixth aided by Brent Beatties 2 rbi single. Then Chris Mittelstadt would come up with a clutch rbi single to tie the game at 4. Don Oslund would continue on the mound for the Athletics, while Leduc went to their reliever Doyle.

With the game tied 4-4, we now move to the bottom half of the 8th inning, bases loaded and one out, Mike Leclaire would lay down a sacrafice bunt to score Stauffer from third and win the ball game. There were a few errors tonight on both sides but the ball game itself was awesome to watch.
