Spring meeting to take place March 17

The 2010 Powerline Baseball League spring meeting will take place next Wednesday, March 17, on St. Patty’s Day as all six teams meet to approve the schedule and bring up any items heading into the 2010 campaign.

The meeting has been moved to the Tofield Town Office upstairs and will now start at 7:30 p.m.

The draft schedule has been posted on the league website for approval. Teams will also have to approve new rules, which include an updated roster rule and tie-breaker format.

The league will also have to decide on whether it will join Baseball Alberta for 2010. Baseball Alberta charges recreational men’s leagues $200, plus each team $50.

Larry Lewsaw has also suggested the league consider searching for a new president. There could be a discussion on how to proceed, and if he will continue his post for the 2010 campaign.

League fees are generally due at the meeting, or shortly after. The league would have to decide if the fee should be increased or not depending on entering Baseball Alberta and any other items that could arise out of the meeting.
