Milleteers Down Royals In Opener
The Milleteers travelled back to Anniversary Park to open the 2010 PBL regular season. The game went much like the preseason games for the Milleteers as their pitching and defense held down their opponent’s offense. Scott Peterson got the start against his old mates and went four shutout innings, only giving up one hit, against long time teammate Jason Buzzell. Jon Anstey then came in for a three inning save and was absolutely lights out as he struck out all nine batters he faced. The Milleteers pitching staff has so far only allowed six hits and one unearned run in five games this season.

The offense struggled a little bit for the third straight game however as batters on both teams had trouble adjusting to the ever changing strike zone tonight. The Milleteers just could never seem to get that big hit to really bust it open, but they did enough to win.

The Milleteers did not however escape Armena unscathed as right fielder Ryan Swenson, who has been swinging a hot bat to start the year sprained his ankle in an outfield collision with center fielder Kevin Doyle. Swenson will be re evaluated tomorrow, but he will definitely miss the home opener tomorrow against Tofield.
