Peterson Shuts Down Athletics
After a wild game the night before where the Milleteers needed to use four pitchers in a come from behind effort and looking ahead to a weekened tournament they needed a good effort out of their starter tonight, and thats what they got out of veteran Scott Peterson. The Milleteers wanted to get five or six innings out of their veteran right hander to save some arms, instead they got a dominating two-hit shutout. Peterson ended up with seven strikeouts, and of course no walks (control being one of the staples of his prolonged success). The normally steady defense of the Milleteers was a bit leaky tonight, but Peterson managed to pitch around it to ensure the win.

Offensively the Milleteers were kept off balance most of the night by cagey veteran Ray Lehman, but they managed to scratch across five runs with some timely hitting coinciding with some Bardo errors. The win gives the Milleteers sole position of first in the PBL and puts them on an 8 game wining steak heading into the Axemen Tournament this weekend where they will face the Camrose Cougars on Friday night at 7:00pm.
