Peterson Pitches Another Gem
After getting an All Star snub Scott Peterson ran his scoreless streak to 20 innings to start the year as he threw his second consecutive two hit shutout to run his record to 3-0. This time the unfortunate victim of his precision pitching was the Holden Blue Jays. The Blue Jays beat the Milleteers the night before in league play, but tonight in the opener of the Ryley Rebel tournament the Milleteers got the better of them.

The Blue Jays picked up PBL Hall of Famer Donny Oslund to start for them and he was tough, but the Milleteers managed to scratch two runs off of him in the four innings he pitched. That was all Peterson would need to best his long time foe as he was on tonight as he struck out seven and only walked one. The only trouble he had all night was in the third when the first three batters reached to load the bases, only to see Scott wriggle out of trouble with a strikeout and a double play to end the threat.

The Blue Jays then went to the bullpen, but the Milleteers managed to score five more insurance runs, capped off by a three run shot from clean up hitter Steven Pahl. Next up for the Milleteers will be a date with PBL pride on the line as they face the defending Battle River League champions, the Heisler Cardinals tomorrow at 5:00pm in Ryley.
