Vote goes to start playoffs Thursday

The votes are in; playoffs start Thursday.

In a year when rain has dictated many a nights moved, it came down to a vote to decide when the playoffs would begin.

Three teams said, let’s get it started. One said let’s wait. Two said we’re out of playoffs and it’s up to the teams who are in playoffs to decide. It’s probably pretty obvious who voted what.

We still won’t know who is playing whom until after Wednesday night’s games. Leduc has confirmed they will have the diamond for Tuesday and Thursday nights since midget ball season is now over. This means the semi-final, barring more rain, would end no later than July 29 with finals beginning the week of Aug. 3 and 5.

Tonight’s games feature Bardo in Leduc and Holden in Tofield (But played in Bardo). If Bardo wins, they’ll clinch third place and a matchup with their rivals from Ryley. If Bardo loses, then a Holden win would pit Bardo against Leduc and Holden versus Leduc in the semi-finals.

Check back to the website Thursday morning semi-final schedules and matchups.
