A’s falter in season Debut

The season opening clash between the biggest rivalry in the PBL was supposed to be full of energy and excitement but if you ask any of the fans in attendance they would say they saw two teams shaking the offseason rust off of their arms and gloves. While both starters struggled early on it was the rebels who took advantage of the free bases offered to them.

They took 3 walks and a hit by pitch to stroll to a 5 run lead early in the first inning of the game. While only allowing 6 hits the entire game the rebels still managed to tally 9 runs both with some aggresive base running as well as timely hits.

The A’s as always chipped away but ultimately came up short in a 9-5 in a game that will be looked back upon later in the season as the “what if” game when the points start to matter.

Bardo will host Armena on Thursday for the Royal’s season opener where both teams will be looking to get into the win column for the first time in 2011.
