Milleteers Take Out Bardo Again
The Milleteers came to Bardo for a second consecutive Thursday, and were again scrambling just to field nine guys. With number nine hitter Adam Pahl showing up just in time to run out to left field in his work clothes in the bottom half of the first the Milleteers were in business. Again the lineup hit from top to bottom and pounded out 15 hits, including a no doubter home run from lead off hitter Greg Zilkie, the first of his career, ever, including slow pitch. The offense was helped out by a few Bardo miscues as well as some errors prolonged some innings.

On the mound the mound the Milleteers went with Steve Pahl, his second consecutive start against the Athletics. He battled some command issues early and needed a timely double play on a hard hit ball up the middle to escape the first. He began to settle down in the middle innings and handed the lead over to veteran lefty Kelly Landaker who pitched two good relief innings, only surrendering one run on a ball that the right fielder lost in the sun.

All in all it was another well played game by the Milleteers as they kept the lineup moving on offense and played some solid defense, highlighted by a couple of web gems from second baseman Shawn Brinkworth to cap off the effort. Next up will be a one day tourney back in Bardo on Saturday.
