Roadrunners convert on 4th win in last 6

The Jekyll and Hyde season continued this week for the Camrose Roadrunners. After being shutout by Leduc on Tuesday night the Roadrunners went into Ryley looking to bounce back and they did so in fine fashion shutting out the Rebels 6-0.

Camrose got some stellar pitching from Alex Roth who gave up only 4 hits and struck out 3 en route to the victory. Roth was helped out by some excellent infield defense by the Roadrunners who never allowed a Rebel past second base.

The Roadrunners got to Ryley pitcher Corey Epp early as he struggled with his control giving up 2 basehits and 2 walks in the 1stinning allowing the Roadrunners to push across a run. Epp relied on his defense to get out of the first as Camrose left the bases loaded.

The Roadrunners would strike again in the 3rdas catcher Sheldon Petryshen was able to get on board thanks to a bobbled ball. Warren Boychuk would cash him in 2 batters later with a well struck double.

The 4thinning was the back breaker for the Rebels as the Roadrunners batted around and put 4 runs on the scoreboard. Ryley did limit the damage though leaving Camrose with 3 runners on base for the second time in the game.

The Rebels attempted to threaten in the bottom of the 7thas Kyle Reinholt led off with a well struck single but that was quickly erased by an outstanding double play turned by Bret Keohane and Eldon Banack. Kris Kusenerick then tapped a dribbler back to Roth who was able to deliver the ball to Banack at first to finish off the game.
