Roadrunners Rebound Again

Camrose Roadrunners showed the resiliency that is becoming their trademark this season, rebounding from a disappointing loss to Leduc on Wednesday to blank the Bardo Athletics 1-0 in Camrose Thursday night.

Starter Josh Banack gave up only two hits over five innings and got some excellent defensive support to shut down a couple of Bardo threats, before handing the ball to Alex Roth, who mopped up with two hitless innings of his own.

The game’s only run was scored in the fourth inning by Warren Boychuk, who drew a walk from Bardo pitcher Chris Mittelstadt, then advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Eldon Banack, stole third and went home on a wild throw.

Mittelstadt yielded only two hits over six innings in taking the loss.
