Big Inning Powers Roadrunner Win

Camrose Roadrunners capitalized on Armena pitching with an eight run outburst in the sixth inning and went on to a convincing 13-2 win over the Royals in Armena Thursday night.

Five hits and five walks in the same inning blew open what had been a close game, as Camrose led 4-1 after five.

Leading the Roadrunner attack were Warren Boychuk, who drove in the first four Camrose runs, three with a fourth-inning double, Tim McTavish, who was three-for-four with two RBI’s and two runs scored, and Bret Keohane, who was two-for-two with three RBI’s.

Camrose starter Alex Roth gave up only one run and five hits over five innings to pick up his third win of the season before handing the ball to veteran Josh Banack to finish up.Starter Jason Buzzell took the loss for the Royals.

The win moves the Camrose squad to .500 for the first time this season, and keeps them very much in the mix for playoff spots.
