Two years ago, the Leduc Milleteers lost a somewhat meaningless 3-2 decision to the Armena Royals to keep Armena’s playoff hopes alive.
Two years later on a similar Sunday night, this time the Ryley Rebels on the brink pull out a 6-5 decision on a walk-off.
Well, two years ago the Milleteers won their first championship. Some could conclude the 3-2 loss to Armena was the wake-up call they needed just before playoffs.
It’s hard to imagine 2011’s trip-up won’t possibly prove the same. A 12-game winning streak snapped just in time. Sometimes losing is the best medicine.
I guess we’ll see.
