PBL sets web traffic record

The Powerline Baseball website saw its highest traffic day since launching to its new format back in December of 2008 on Monday, July 18.

More than 650 people visited the site for 1,518 pageviews on a day leading up to the final game of the regular season, which was supposed to impact who was to play in the one-game playoff Tuesday night.

Instead, a huge hail and rain storm obliterated Armena. The game was set to be made up Tuesday night in Rosalind until finally the rains stayed away long enough for a Thursday night tilt in Camrose to end the season.

The previous record was just 819 pageivews set exactly one year ago to the day when a debate raged over when the 2010 playoffs should start. It’s the first time the site has had more than 1,000 pageviews in a single day.
