Holden Wins Pitching Battle

With two out in the bottom of the eleventh inning, in a game about to be called because of darkness, the Holden Blue Jays scored the winning run on a passed ball to notch a 2-1 victory in their first semi-final game with the Camrose Roadrunners.

The game was a pitching duel between two of the best pitchers in the PBL, Holden’s Kyle Muzechka and Camrose’s Alex Roth.

Both pitchers pitched the full eleven innings, with Roth giving up just seven hits and striking out thirteen batters, while Muzechka also allowed just seven hits and struck out ten.

Each team scored a run in the third inning before settling in to the lengthy defensive battle which saw only a handful of balls hit out of the infield.

The two teams will square off in Game Two tonight in Camrose.
