Let the season begin

The 2012 PBL season kicked off on Sunday night with a rematch of last years 1 game playoff berth. Not only was this the start to the season but an extra special night for both the Rebels and the A’s. Before the game Rebels manager/player Kevin Reinholt gave a from the heart speech in honor of the late Curt Stensrud.

Ryley showed a touch of rust on both the arms and the bats and the A’s took advantage early on and took a 6-0 lead after 2.

Bardo pitched by committee as Ray Lehman took the mound to start the season and went 3 strong. Mike Mcgowan took over for 3 and normal starter Ryan Olsen came in to close out the game in the 7th.

Both teams figured that a nine inning outing would do nothing but good allowing a few more at bats to get geared up for the season.

Mike Leclaire and Craig Neufeld led the way with 4 and 3 rbi’s respectively.

Bardo will get Tuesday night off as they prepare to play Armena on Thursday night in their home opener which will see Sean Melanson take the mound for his season debut.
