Royals sweep A’s with final slug fest

On what turned out to be a picture perfect night in Bardo, turned into an ugly game filled with errors and lots of hits. In the end, it was the Royals who came out on top for the third straight time this season.

Cole Tomaszewski for the Armena Royals and Ken Braget for the Bardo Athletics went yard in the first inning. Tomaszewski drove in six runs on the night to continue his torrid pace toward a possible all-star selection in his second full season with the Armena Royals after playing in a couple tournaments over the past three seasons.

Ian Sherbaniuk picked up the victory. Joel Boettger picked up the save and Ryan Oleson the loss for Bardo.

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Armena Royals and the Bardo Athletics, as the two teams put up 25 runs combined in a 15-10 Armena Royals win.

There were 26 hits, including six extra base hits in the game.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.
 
Cole Tomaszeski racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Armena Royals. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
 
Ian Sherbaniuk got the win for the Armena Royals despite allowing nine runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered nine hits.
Armena Royals closer Joel Boettger put away the final four outs to record the save.
The top of the first saw the Armena Royals take an early lead, 2-0. A two-run blast by Tomaszeski, scoring Clark Banack started the inning off.
The Bardo Athletics survived the Armena Royals‘ surge and put up four runs of their own in the first. The A’s put up one run in each of the second, third and seventh..
The Armena Royals stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring five runs on an error, two singles, and a bases loaded walk.
Three runs in the bottom of the sixth helped the Bardo Athletics close their deficit to 10-9. A two-run error and an RBI single off a the Bardo Athletics rally.
The Armena Royals built upon their lead with five runs in the seventh. An error scored Adam Johnson for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Jason Buzzell‘s single, scoring Banack.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the seventh, the Bardo Athletics faced just a 15-10 deficit. An RBI single by Ryan Oleson fueled the Bardo Athletics’ comeback. But, Boettger got a ground out to first to end the game and pick up the save.
