Milleteers Comeback On Armena To Win Shootout

It wasn`t pretty, but the Milleteers managed to outscore the best offensive
team in the league so far this year, the Armena Royals. The Royals jumped on
starter Steven Pahl early as they put up 4 in a bizarre first inning that say a
botched bunt play and a bases loaded walk to score a run on only 3 balls as the
umpires lost the count. The Royals brought their hitting sticks touched up Pahl
for 10 hits on the night.
The Milleteers responded for 3 runs of their own off of crafty
veteran Jason Buzzell in their first bat as three walks and some errors led to
the damage. The second inning was more of the same as the Royals cranked out
another 4 hits and scored two, while the Milleteers answered back with 4 to
chase Buzzell and take the lead.

After he got the lead Pahl settled in and quit throwing his bread and
butter curve ball that had been his go to weapon the last few years as the
Royals were hammering it everytime he threw it. Instead he went with the slider
and his new found splitter, which he has been working on for 15 years and
debuted last night to good effect. After retiring 13 batters in a row, the
Royals got something started in the 7th, but stranded 2 runners to end the
game.
