Bardo snaps losing streak

The Bardo Athletics traveled to Holden Tuesday night for game one of three back to back make up games.

The Athletics came out strong in the first inning as Holden starter Maury Micklich struggled to find the strike zone. A combination of walks and timely hits gave the the Athletics a 5-0 lead after the first inning.

All star Ryan Olson took the mound for the Athletics and was efficient in retiring the first six batters faced. Micklich would settle in after the rocky first inning as the game turned into a pitching duel.

Olson would strike out seven and the Athletics offense scored two more runs to beat the Blue Jays 7-1.

Bardo veteran Chris Mittlestadt would make his first appearance of the 2012 season going three for four and cashing in three RBI’s.

Bardo now faces the first place Milleteers tonight in Bardo and then travels to Camrose Thursday night for the last game of the regular season.
