Royals take home opener

The Armena Royals pounded out 13 hits for their first win of the 2013 season in a home opener against the expansion Beaumont Angels.

Armena, sporting their new white uniforms, broke things open in the second inning when Landon Miller (7-8 to start the year) hit a bases clearing double to right field.

Lefthander Dean Prpic had a 3-3 day at the plate and went four innings on the hill, striking out eight for his first victory as a Royal. Jason Buzzell, out of retirement, mopped up the fifth and sixth before Zenan Sherbaniuk closed out the day.

The Royals now head to Holden Tuesday night where they have yet to win a game in their brief modern day history.
