Royals win and prepare for another week off

Ian Sherbaniuk went seven complete innings on the hill for Armena and the bats came alive on a drizzly evening in Camrose for a 26-4 win Tuesday night for the Royals.

Sherbaniuk struck out four and scattered seven hits for his team-leading third win of the season already. Sherbaniuk won an exhibition game against Heisler, then took the win against Holden in another relief appearance before finally getting his first start of the year Thursday night.

Designated hitter Dean Prpick notched six RBI on the night as he rested his aching arm, while seven of the Royals managed multi-hit nights despite the week-long break against Camrose hurlers Josh Banack and Marcel Lesoway.

Armena gets another week-long hiatus before meeting Leduc next Thursday at home. It’s the start of a three-game homestand that sees last year’s finalists host Leduc, Holden then Leduc again in a span of just eight days.

The team is planning some team bonding as well as a practice to work off the rust they showed in their loss to Ryley.
